"The Yorkshire Sundial Maker"

Stephen has been making Armillary and Horizontal sundials for over 20 years.  Based in the Historic village of Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire. Trained at York St. John College, in 3 dimensional design education, He has always been a passionate designer/maker and also a keen gardener; 'Stephen Holehan Sundials' was born after a 20 year career in Design Technology Education with a decision to take a leap in the dark and set up his own creative business.  He is passionate about making high quality Armillary spheres in smaller sizes up to half a meter in diameter & stunning horizontal sundials that are all individually calculated for their exact place of location.  All His work is beautifully engraved with personalised inscriptions and mottos  created with a fusion of modern CNC technology and hand crafted skills which go back to his teenage years of  building model boats, aircraft and trains; the later he still does! 

Stephen believes firmly that working closely  with  his clients ensures  that the sundial they want is the dial they get. Working from a purpose built workshop where he lives - Sundials are clearly a passion.
